What is this event?
July 1st marks the first official day that the University of Utah is a member of the Pac-12 conference. To celebrate this momentous occasion we (Utah Athletics, University of Utah, Pac-12 commissioner, and the State of Utah) will declare Friday, July 1st, 2011 Utah Pac-12 Day on the front stairs of the Utah State Capitol building at 12 noon.
Who is welcome to attend this event?
EVERYONE! The general public, students, Utah fans, and all persons in the state of Utah are invited to attend this FREE event. These guests are invited to find a spot on the lawn to watch the event. Utah Cheerleaders, Swoop, and Dance team will be interacting with fans on the lawn putting on face tattoos.
Who will be speaking at the event?
Athletics Director Chris Hill, University of Utah Interim President Lorris Betz, ASUU SBO President Neela Pack, Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott, Congressman Jim Matheson, and Lt. Governor Bell.
Will there be designated handicap seating?
Handicap seating will be limited, so if you need these accommodations plan on getting to the event early.
Where can I park?
Parking will be available on the East side of the Capitol Building
How long will the event last?
The event is expected to last 30-40 minutes.
Can I take pictures or video?
Pictures and video will be allowed for personal use.
Can I get autographs?
There will be no autograph sessions during the event.
Will I be allowed inside of the Capitol Building?
The Capitol Building will be opened to the general public on the day of the event.
Where will the restrooms be located?
Restrooms are located on the east side, main level of the Capitol Building and will be open to the public.
